Sandy Rakes is the founder
and visionary of the Great Kids Explorer Club. Sandy serves
as both the executive and program director. Her
administration responsibilities include: grant writing,
fundraising, network development and overseeing the
day-to-day operations of the organization. Her program
responsibilities are recruiting and training volunteers,
oversight of staff, collaborating in curriculum development,
program development and monitoring. In addition she
continues to work directly with the students as she is
uniquely gifted relating to this population. Sandy has a
background in management, along with 12 years of practical
experience working with youth and at-risk students.
